There is a reason for me reinstating the selection then cancelling it
later on, and though I'm sure it'd be possible to re-write things to
avoid this, I'd prefer not to have to make that effort if there was a
way to simply return from visual mode to normal mode. Does anyone
know if that is possible? Thanks.
