Christian, in my newsreader (pan), the superscript 1 appears correctly in
a smaller font and lifted above the font baseline. I know about /xx/,
_xx_. and *xx*, but I didn't realise there is a superscript indicator for
text. Can I ask what did you type to indicate that 1 is a superscript?
