The only one of the icons I use is gVim, but I can certainly see the
use of the "easy" one. Read only, it is easy enough to edit files
readonly anyway after launching Vim, I see no reason to have a
dedicated shortcut, unless it is in the "send to" menu.
I don't know if it's in the official installer, but at least Steve
Hall's installer also adds a "vimdiff" shortcut to the desktop which I
likewise never use. I have created an equivalent one in the send to
menu, but unless I'm missing something, launching vimdiff with no
files by double-clicking on the desktop icon is pretty worthless.
