You're looking for something like

map <F2> :let w = expand('<cword>')
\ <bar>exe 'top new '.w
\ <bar>setl bt=nofile noswf
\ <bar>0put=system('perldoc -tf '.w)
\ <bar>1<cr>

but this has lots of problems. Surely one of the scripts at
http://www.vim.org/scripts/ does what you want with more
functionality. Search for perldoc.
