History doesn't work !

Hi,

Well, it's all in the title.
After a fresh install (Vim 7.2.330 on Ubuntu 10.04) I noticed
that the up and down arrows don't work at all to get the last typed
command.
It's the very first time I get this pb with Vim.

What's wrong ?
