You need scanf like expressions. Don't ask me why - this seems to work:

set efm=%*[^\ ]%*[\ ]%*[^\ ]%*[\ ]%*[^\ ]%*[\ ]%*[^\ ]%*[\ ]%f\ %l%m

match no spaces:
%*[^\ ]
match spaces:
%*[\ ]

repeat until path is expected...
