I have made the directory tex in my ftplugin folder, then I copied the original texrc there and added the following line:

TexLet g:Tex_TEXINPUTS = "pathtolatex/latex/"

but that does not work and gVim still does not search the specified folder.

Neither does that (I did change TexLet to let).
