According to the help, Windows Vim can source a Unix-fileformat plugin
if 'fileformats' includes "unix" but not vice-versa. On a Unix Vim
(including Vim for Mac OS X), all lines of all plugins must end in a
linefeed with no carriage-return. The carriage return character would be
interpreted as a control-M. I suppose that lines ending in a comment
would not generate an error, but it is impractical to make sure that all
lines end in a comment: for some commands this would mean wrapping them
in an :execute followed by a bar and quote.
See the third paragraph under :help :source_crnl
Best regards,
Tony.
