Re: Odd Vim display behavior in INSERT mode...

Thanks for the suggestion, Nathan. It turns out I was using gnome-terminal.wrapper (which I discovered with http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/ubuntu/set-the-default-terminal-emulator-on-ubuntu-linux/). When I switched over to plain vanilla xterm, the issues went away.

Now, I've been using gnome-terminal.wrapper with Vim on Ubuntu laptop without any problems for years. Anyone have any ideas on why it should not work over ssh?
