Without knowing how "theBrain" does file associations, no, I have no idea how to proceed. Since it is completely possible to set up file associations to Vim under Windows, I'm not even going to guess what theBrain did to break the normal mechanisms. So until they prove otherwise, I'm convinced the problem is that theBrain is doing something stupid and non-standard with their file associations.
