Getting rid of smart tabs.

COBOL is position sensitive. I just wasted some
time editing a program that compiled OK
yesterday.
Turns out that the PROCEDURE DIVISION header had
be moved to the right because of a
legitimate change that I had made to the line
above.

Can I get rid of smart tabs and how do I do it?
