Match pattern not containing subpattern in between

Hello,
I can't figure out how to match a pattern with the following structure:

; <anything that is not the word "for" or ":="> :=

in one swoop. I can do it with two searches (first find ;, then search
in the substring starting just after the semicolon), but can it be done
with one regex?

E.g.

'...; for i := ...' must not match the pattern;
'for ...; x := ...; for ...' must match the pattern.
