Re: clear register @N

Hum think it was a bad comprehension of event CmdwinEnter

au CmdwinEnter *XPATH :call setreg('n', [])

command! -nargs=1 -bang -complete=customlist,helper#XpathList 
  \ XPATH call helper#XpathNavNode("<bang>", <f-args>)

it seems to have to hit Enter

Register N means "register n, but append rather than replace".

Try
    :let @n = ""
