Try this:

# First install package needed to build vim
$ sudo apt-get build-dep vim-gnome

# Then build your own vim from sources
$ cd vim
$ rm src/auto/config.cache
$ ./configure --with-features=huge --enable-gui=gtk2
$ make - j8
$ make test
$ sudo make install

or configure with gtk3 with:
$ ./configure --with-features=huge --enable-gui=gtk3
