dbext 20.00 and DBI_column_delimiter

I've been struggling with dbext (v20.00) DBI_column_delimiter setting. No matter what I do I cannot get it set unless I set in manually.

I'm not sure if it's still supported (20.00 was released last year, so I'm hopeful).

Docs indicate that:

let g:dbext_default_DBI_column_delimiter = "\t" should change the default (three spaces). But this never seems to take.

If I manually set the option through DBSetOption DBI_column_delimiter = "\t" it does take, but only if I set it *after* I run at least one query.

I can set default directly in autoload/dbext_dbi.vim, which works.

Any suggestions?
