Take also a look at http://github.com/rstacruz/sparkup
It has some interesting features too.

Why don't you join your efforts together and, could be, with the
author of ZenCoding to bring a great implementation of the technique
to Vim? He is looking for someone able to integrate it in Vim and you
both already made a great work. Btw, thanks a lot for your great
plugins.
