Gary, thank you for the comments about my code comments.

I changed to putting the result on the next line,
that way I can 'chain' the result into another calculation.

imap <silent> ,= <esc>YpI2 k <esc>A n<esc>!!dc<cr>A<space>

Is there a way to disable redraw until the end of the mapping?

I also re-wrote the infix calculator to use imap (vs vmap),
also with the result on the next line:

imap <silent> \aa <esc>0y$A<cr><C-R>=<C-R>"<cr>
