Exclusion of string pattern for autocommand subset of matched files

Hi all,

I have an autocommand, au BufWritePost *.foo :run_cmd.

It works as it should, i.e. on all files matching the pattern *.foo. However, I'd like to exclude files from triggering where the file basename ALSO matches bar.* How can I disable this autocommand on files that match bar.*, or equivalently and more strictly, bar.*.foo?
