Indent guides are possible if you use tabs, through the "tab:xy"
component of &listchars.

Trailing spaces can be achieved via "trail:c" and non-breaking spaces
through "nbsp:c".

Intermediate spaces are not (yet) possible in Vim, although I have
been holding my breath for about 10 years. :)
