I don't get any such messages when starting gvim with GTK2/Gnome2 GUI
from konsole.

What are the first five lines of the output of ":version"? (See ":help
:redir" about how to capture them.) (Without the quotes, of course.)

Assuming "fc12" in the subject means "Fedora Core 12" or some such, what
is the answer (in the shell) to

rpm -qa |grep gtk2-2

? (it takes quite some time to run). On openSUSE 11.2 I get

gtk2-2.18.6-0.1.3.i586

BTW IIUC my current theme is Mist, not Clearlooks, which is also
installed. From the line numbers in your post, your
/usr/share/themes/Clearlooks/gtkrc doesn't look like mine; I'm attaching
my .../Clearlooks/gtk-2.0/gtkrc and (under another name) my
.../ClearlooksClassic/gtk-2.0/gtkrc for comparison.

Best regards,
Tony.
