It seems that leaving out the imap commands and adding like this

autocmd VimEnter * call IMAP("(","(<++>)",'')
autocmd VimEnter * call IMAP("[","[<++>]",'')
autocmd VimEnter * call IMAP("{","{<++>}",'')

seems quite ok.
