Hello, John:

Another oddity for this topic: I deleted that file, and then later I
clicked on the link you provided and was going to try Tony's solution.
However, ~/.gnome2/Vim was back without my putting it there (but this
time with the 1 where Tony put it, so my gvim menus had continued to work).
