You're *certain* all the config files are the same? Are all the same
config files sourced? Compare (if you can) the output of
the :scriptnames command in both versions of Vim. Obviously the stuff
in $VIMRUNTIME will differ but the rest of it is up to your and your
system configuration.

There have been over 100 patches to the Vim 7.3 source since initial
release. Does your install include any of them?
