xmledit no longer works for me

xmledit no longer works for me 

vim version : 7.3

OS X

<p>|  it should <p>|</p>

<p>> it should be 

<p>

   |

</p>

and when I press </ it should close a tag

isn't it?

did I mis understanding with xmledit?
