vmenu --> submenu

I noted a problem when using vmenu:

I created this submenu:

vnoremenu <silent> 96.447.10 &Sort.Swap\ Words.Swap\ 2\ words\ around\
another\ word\
vnoremenu <silent> 96.447.11 &Sort.Swap\ Words.Swap\ 4\ words\ 2\ by\
2\
vnoremenu <silent> 96.447.12 &Sort.Swap\ Words.Swap\ 3\ words\ 1\ by\
2\

However when I don't select text I can't see what is in my submenu.

How can I resolve this problem?
