Nope, it's just Blowfish, with an implementation error corrected. The error had been breaking the theoretical strength of the algorithm making it easier to attack. Dangers of "roll-your-own" encryption, I guess. I don't remember the details, if you're interested you can check the Git/Mercurial history.
