PS: I'm a relatively new Vim user. Love scripting myself (realize that must go improve) so not necessarily expecting that you write me the code but rather your general and specific advice will be well received.
I'm not sure how to approach the last problem I described; which build-in functions to capitalize on and how to structure the script in general. I'll be thankful for anything else that might inspire you to share with me. Thanks
