sharing folds between vim and gvim

Hello, if I save folds in gvim with :mkview, then close the file,
reopen it and :loadview I get the folds back, but if I reopen it in vim
on the terminal, :loadview won't get the folds. Same the other way:
folds I create in vim I cannot acces in gvim.

Is there some way around this?

BTW I'm on Archlinux and I'm using it's gvim package, but I never
understood, is this an Archlinux-only package or is gvim maintained
upstream (i.e. by the same vim devs)? If it's Arch-only, then I asked
in the wrong place, sorry
