Taskpaper-vim acting up

If there is anyone here who's familiar with taskpaper-vim I could use some help.

Taskpaper-vim has just started acting up on me. 

When I enter a new task with ^o or ^O, as soon as I type the first character the new task is joined with the one below. 

Also, in insert mode CR on a task line has no effect. CR seems to function normally otherwise.

I tried reinstalling the plugin, but still have the problem.

I've come to rely on Taskpaper, but it's worthless to me like this.
