Thanks, EriK. I've been curious about diff, and I guess vimdiff. Thanks for the clear example. I will make a note to try it out at the next good opportunity.

As it happens, though, I've located the lines that caused the problem. I'm really puzzled. They are code required by vimorganizer. I commented them out because I am not using vimorganizer anymore.

I don't see what they have to do with taskpaper. I've asked for help from the maintainer of taskpaper-vim.
