I whole-heartedly agree that maintaining a plethora of plugins has become
quite tedious. Of the plugin managers listed above, Vimball is the only
one I use regularly. Although, I often think I need to take the time
for a more complete solution.

If Vim came with a plugin manager (implying it has met with Bram's
approval) that could be set-up/configured easily and which could
automatically keep my plugins updated, I'd be all over it. Kind of like
the Package Updater (pup) on Linux.

I'm glad this is being recognized as an issue and that you are at least
entertaining possible solutions.
