For those who are interested: please try v141e available at my website
as http://mysite.verizon.net/astronaut/vim/index.html#NETRW . There's a
new mapping there, gd, which attempts to force treatment as a
directory. Unfortunately I don't have a ftp account on a machine where
I can make a symbolic link to a file and also one to a directory to test
this with, so I'd appreciate some feedback. Caveat: I don't have help
for netrw-gd yet; I'd like to validation that v141e works for that purpose.
