I can't test that right now since I no longer have access to the Windows
computer were I experienced what I mentioned in the other message, but I can
provide one additional case:

On the same (moderately fast) Linux computer, GVim is slow when using
cursorline or relativenumber, but the console version is not, even if the
console version has the same plugins, and has to display more lines. By "slow"
I mean that if I press and hold for a while "j" or "k" for some seconds, when
I raise the key the window still scrolls because is not redrawing as fast as
it should be.

The "fix" that I'm using right now is setting lazyredraw. I don't know exactly
what are the side effects (it seems it flickers a little bit more when
scrolling), but it now feels as smooth as it should be.

Anyway, nowadays I usually scroll with commands that move more than one line,
like "}" or C-F, so I hardly notice it. I guess this is one of the things that
reveal that Vim's implementation isn't specially recent. :-)
