Add composed words with dot

Hi,

I am trying to feed a List with this kind of compoued words but it fails :

WORD1.WORD2



When I type C-X C-K in order to display my dictionary list, it appears like that
WORD1
WORD2


How can I correct it in order to display WORD1.WORD2 ?
