Can't do recovery on .vimrc

Hello everyone!

Got to this kind of a problem when going through my .vimrc .

Of course, forgot to save and couldn't recover it.

Tested a bit mode and got to this:

Swap file gets created, with all the changes, 

but when using recovery on startup or :recover, i get

E305: No swap file found for .vimrc

Checked with other files, with a dot or without in front of a name - everything works well.

Just wondering - might it be a bug, or a defined behavior?

P.S. My ~/.vim direcrory is symlinked
