try this for gnone:

sudo apt-get install wmctrl

add function into .vimrc:
function Maximize_Window()
silent !wmctrl -r :ACTIVE: -b add,maximized_vert,maximized_horz
endfunction

define alias in .bashrc:
alias gvim='gvim -c "call Maximize_Window()"'

or call gvim in:
gvim -c "call Maximize_Window()"
