Yes. There are a couple of ways to do this, depending on exactly
where under $HOME you want to install Vim. The most straightforward
is to use 'bin' and 'share' directories directly under $HOME. To do
this, just add
--prefix=$HOME
to the arguments you normally give to ./configure. Don't forget to
add ~/bin to your PATH ahead of the directory in which your system
has vim installed, if you haven't already done so.
