open file and write current date?

Hi all,
Wondering if I can have a little help. Not that great with macros but I would
like to be able to have a file do the following

vim + filename (will take me to end of the file)
then add the current date/time (I already have iab for the current date/time
from Guckes site)
..and then start to edit below that line.

This is sort of a running thought process note taking I have.

TIA!
