Vim won't open a window

Earlier today I attempted to update my plugins with the UpdateAddons command of vim-addon-manager. Vim-addon-manager and one plugin updated fine. Another gave me a lot of error messages. I tried moving the plugin folder out of the vim-addons folder and installing from scratch. Got the same error messages.

The plugin that did update---vimwiki---was behaving a little strangely. I quit vim [MacVim] and restarted, thinking that might be necessary to get the update recognized. Vim started but didn't open a window. Nor can I get it to open a new window, either with the new window command nor by trying to open a file.

I have moved all plugins out of the vim-addons folder, so none are operating. Still unable to open a window. Neither my .vimrc nor my .gvimrc have been written to in weeks. 

I know this is vague. I assume the source of the problem is somewhere in what I did in attempting to update/install plugins. I have no idea what it might be. 

Help appreciated. I don't want to miss my writing session in the morning because I can't open a vim window.
