You could write a custom syntax-highlighting scheme.

See :help syntax

For e.g,
syntax keyword My_IO_Funcs "\zs\<read\ze\s(*
syntax keyword My_IO_Funcs "\zs\<write\ze\s(*
syntax keyword My_IO_Funcs "\zs\<open\ze\s(*
" .. etc

And finally,
