Hi, I think you need a more precise description of your bug.

Which version would that be? Vim-7.3.50 is currently the latest version.

Do I understand correctly that Vim "hangs" for some time (not
indefinitely) and then outputs a warning or error message?
If so, which error or warning does it give?
What "search" command do you use to reproduce the bug?
Why is it relevant to omni completion?
Are you trying some completion, if so how?
Does it happen when you try to open the remote file or later
while editing it?

Which OS do you use?
Can get a stack trace where it crashes using a debugger?
(":help debug.txt" may help you).
I have not been able to reproduce the problem so far
using Vim-7.3.50 on Linux x86 but but answers
to above questions may help to reproduce it.
