After some experimenting on MY end, the problem is actually in two
settings:
'comments' contains the string "fb:-"
'formatoptions' contains a 'c'
Removing either of these should fix your problem.
Note that this is actually a feature, it allows you to properly indent
bulleted lists like this:
- item
one
- item
two
- item
three
