Hi,
I think this is a matter of personal preferences. I love MiniBufExplorer but
I did some customizations in the original script to fit my needs. I think, in
most cases, you should do the same.
The way I see you use Vim the same way as my self. I use Project plugin to
organize my files and folders and there is some script to synchronize this
plugin with MiniBufExplorer. MiniBufExplorer also has the problem you told,
the syntax highlight disappear after some command that I don't remember what
is. But the combination of two scripts let me use Vim as a powerful IDE like
editor.
