My guess is that ctags does not recognize the extern keyword. When
removing this keyword, you are fooling it, saying the variable is a
variable from the namespace BWAPI::UnitTypes. Requests about "ctags
extern" on the web only returned me unanswered questions and similar
situations.

It has been 3 years OmniCppComplete has not been updated and I've not
seen the author answer questions about it in a while. Unless he
answers now, I think the best would be to start a new OmniCppComplete
project elsewhere (something like github/google code). It would be
nice if there was some sort of community around this plugin which
seems to be rather popular. It misses unit test and a good faq. I'd be
happy to participate.
