Is it just me, or does the LaTeX syntax file seem a little insane? If I am
editing a 500 line file and typing quickly, all 2GHz of my processor seems to
be required to keep up. I type pretty fast, but this seems kind of
ridiculous. In comparison, editing a 500 line vim script file seems to use a
negligible amount of the processor. I have already changed the settings >
:syntax sync maxlines=100
:syntax sync minlines=20
And still, there is no discernible improvement. A few questions:
1. Do other people notice the same behavior?
2. Does anyone know of an alternate syntax file for LaTeX? I have developed a
strong distaste for the one that comes with the distribution (I actually
disliked it even before I realized the horrible processing cost).
Many thanks in advance.
