change vim limitation of maximum tabs/buffers?

I'm using vim to open a lot of text files , each in a tab (a buffer), it
looks I reached the default maximum concurrent file numbers (30) and get
a warning.
I can't open more files then.
google searching doesn't bring much info.
anyone ran into similiar issue and any hint?
