MacVim slow to quit

I've just installed the latest MacVim from the snapshot (https://github.com/b4winckler/macvim/releases). When trying to close a macvim window, I'm experiencing a delay of ~45 seconds before the screen closes. Closing a buffer or a tab is nearly instantaneous.

I had been experiencing a similar issue with command-line vim, but downgrading to an older version (VIM - Vi IMproved 7.3 (2010 Aug 15, compiled Jan 26 2012 21:27:43)) completely resolved the issue.

On Mac OS X 10.9, snapshot 71 doesn't work, so downgrading is not an option.

Can anyone offer any suggestions for how to debug this issue?
