Almost anything is possible if you're willing to modify the source (as
that patch does) and recompile.
The "unofficial patches list" says however about that patch:
Almost complete, needs more testing
For 7.0 (tested with 7.2)
No mention of 7.3. It may or may not suffer from unknown flaws and/or
bit-rot.
