Many thanks Marc, for this alternative work-around to vim's path
problem.
However, I think I would file a bug report before going so far as to
load add-ons to fix vim's failure to honour its own 'path' setting, by
inexplicably excluding cwd ('.'), even when explicitly declared there.
A little weird obfuscation in the path setting is only a .vimrc hack,
and so long as I attach a note, will be easier to maintain across
several hosts.
