I had some issues with this as well. I was trying to use gmail's
feature that you can append a '+text' to your address like so:

your.address+vim@gmail.com

It turns out the mailing list can't (or won't) accept this as a valid
address. I saw that you were trying to use a gmail address to post
this time, so I'm assuming that you were maybe doing the same. Hope
